Is It Fun Being You?

The journey to lasting happiness.

THE QUESTIONS THAT STARTED A MOVEMENT

“How can I get off the emotional rollercoaster?”

“How can I consistently be happy?”

Those questions became the beginning of a deeply personal exploration for Marcus—and ultimately the foundation for Is It Fun Being You? The journey to lasting happiness.

Through his own experiences, Marcus began examining the relationship between what we think, how we feel, and the ways we behave. What emerged was a practical approach to greater awareness, personal responsibility, and a more intentional experience of life.

Is It Fun Being You? invites readers into that same exploration: to recognize the patterns shaping their lives, become more conscious of what is and isn’t working, and discover how much influence they truly have over their happiness, peace, and fulfillment.

An invitation to explore…

Awareness & Perspective

Recognize the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns influencing your experience—and begin seeing yourself and your circumstances more clearly.

Responsibility & Intention

Explore the relationship between what you think, how you feel, and how you behave while recognizing the role you play in shaping your experience.

Happiness & Fulfillment

Consider what contributes to greater peace, enjoyment, and fulfillment—and how greater awareness can translate into more intentional choices.

BEHIND THE ART

Paddle Man—and a Question That Changed Everything

Paddle Man is more than an illustration on the cover of Is It Fun Being You? His story is intertwined with the beginnings of LIG Coaching & Consulting. Years ago, at the end of a Grand Canyon rafting trip, Peggy Pilmore, who had come to know Marcus during the journey, leaned in and quietly asked him a simple question:

“Why aren’t you helping people?”

The question stayed with him.

Peggy would later create Paddle Man and paint the original art that became the LIG logo, becoming part of the story of a journey that was already beginning to take shape. Paddle Man eventually found his way onto the cover of Is It Fun Being You?, visually connecting the book to those early experiences and to the work Marcus would continue developing in the years ahead.

Sometimes the questions that change our lives aren’t complicated.

They simply help us see something that was already there.

FROM THE BOOK TO THE WORK

The ideas didn’t end on the page.

The ideas explored in Is It Fun Being You? didn’t remain in the book. They continued to evolve through Marcus’s work with individuals, relationships, leaders, teams, and organizations.

Over more than two decades of coaching and consulting, Marcus has continued exploring what helps people create meaningful change: greater self-awareness, clearer understanding, personal responsibility, intentional communication, and the ability to put what we know into practice.

The tools and frameworks have expanded. The work has deepened. But one principle remains at the heart of LIG Coaching & Consulting

Awareness opens the door. Intentional action is what creates meaningful transformation.

Today, that philosophy informs everything from individual coaching and relationship development to leadership, organizational culture, assessments, listening, and practitioner mentorship.

The journey continues—one intentional choice at a time.

FROM READERS

The ideas that stayed with them.

Is It Fun Being You? invites readers to look differently at their thoughts, choices, relationships, and experiences—and to consider what becomes possible when greater awareness is put into practice.

“You will find yourself sitting behind the wheel of your personal life–your personal vehicle to get you from where you NOW to where you not only yearn to BE but NEED to be for lasting personal happiness. In this book, your journey will begin with a full tank of easy and practical processes, processes that incorporate ‘something’ called TDSF. You’ve never heard of this before? Maybe it’s because you just may not be where you WANT to be nor NEED to be in your life. Once on this journey and in your rearview mirror, you will see your past thought, behavior, and verbal patterns that have driven your feelings. Invest a little money in the book or better yet, do that AND invest a little time to attend one of Marcus’ presentations! Start your journey and don’t look back!”

“This is a book that has made a tremendous impact on my life in countless ways, and it can in yours too. Not only is it FUN to read (and short enough to read over and over again), but it teaches the simplicity of owning your own happiness…no matter what may be ‘happening’ around you. This one is too great not to own and share with others!”

“Marcus has managed to give us a great guide on how to have more fun. He asked the question, ‘How can I be consistently happy?’ and set out to find the answer. What he discovered is revealed in this small but powerful book. He tells of his personal experiences and helps lay out the framework that he followed to discover his answer. He then invites his reader to take the journey as well. I have used his techniques and have found the power to control my thoughts and therefore, how I feel. It is amazing how many long, deeply ingrained beliefs were impacting my state of joy. By taking Marcus’ invitation to “play” with the tips he outlines, I have found more joy and fun in every area of my life. Get the book… after all, this is the only life you get.”
